The good old Renfrew Fair is back this September for the 158th year! As a kid growing up in the Renfrew area, this was something I always looked forward to. The fair always falls in the first week back to school, and it made that week more bearable because we knew the fair was coming!
This year, the fair comes into town from Wednesday September 5th through Sunday September 9th. The gates open on Wednesday at 2pm, and the always popular Demolition Derby takes place that evening. Thursday is ‘Family Day’ when children 16 and under can get in for free! Musical entertainment this year includes With The Beatles, Connie Smith, Prescott/Brown Family and Tara Oram. As always, there is ample amount of activities such as the farming shows, horse pull, 4-H & Interclubs events, local exhibitors, fruit & vegetable displays, bacon on a bun, and so much more along with all the fantastic rides for the young and young at heart!
Admission to the Renfrew Fair this year is $9 per adult, $4 for 7-16 year olds, and children 6 and under are free of charge. Parking for your car is $5. You can buy a pass for $30.00 that is good for 5 admissions (savings of $15.00) Available until Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Also available are advance ride bracelets. To save around $7, you can buy one up till Wednesday as well, for $27. Otherwise you are looking at at least $35 to buy at the fair if you don’t want to go the single ticket route.
