Ongoing: Arnprior Early Years Center Play and Learn Drop In. Every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 9-11:30am. All children 0-6 and their parents and caregivers are invited to come to this interactive playgroup. Ongoing: Arnprior Early Years Well Baby Drop- In. October 3rd & 17th beginning at be9:30am. A nurse from the Public Health Unit will be available to discuss infant and toddler growth, development and other parenting issues. Ongoing: Arnprior Library Children’s Department The Arnrpior Library hosts many different programs for babies and children off all ages. Please see their website for more details!

Ongoing: Mother Goose on the Loose  1- 2pm  Tuesday October 16, 23 and 30 – At the Pakenham Library/ Adults and infants – enjoy and share music with your 0 – 12 month old.  Soothe, tickle, rock and dance with music and rhymes.  By the Ontario Early Years Centre of Lanark.  These events are FREE, no registration required.

Ongoing: Wednesday October 10th & 24th 9:30-11am MomME Time Join for a time of rest and growth. Journey with us to be the best mom you can be! Childcare provided with the moms meet! At the Arnprior Wesleyan Church. For more information see their website.

Ongoing: Friday October 5th & 19th from 1-3pm Tot Time Cafe A community drop-in for moms and caregivers on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 1 – 3:00 p.m.  Children play close by while moms enjoy some time to chat.  Gourmet coffee and snacks are available.  At the Arnprior Wesleyan Church. Ongoing: Story Time at the Almonte Library. Every Friday from September – June.  Drop-in Story Time Fridays 10:00 am – 10:30 am Children 2-3 years of age. Enjoy interactive, fast paced stories, rhymes and songs. Parents and caregivers are required to stay with their children and siblings are welcome to join in. Pre-registered Story Time Fridays 11:00 am – 11:45 am Children 4 years of age and olderRegistration is required before 3 pm on Thursday.More involved stories and a craft are offered.  Parents and caregivers are not required to stay in the library.

Ongoing: Words 2 Live By with Jen Charbonneau – Various dates and locations. This unique after school/lunch time program offers girls a chance to gather with others who share their challenges, their interests and their desire to learn new things. The program is designed to help girls sort through the daily “drama” that can influence friendships, self esteem, thoughts of “where I fit in” and everyday challenges. Each session will combine group discussions and creative expression through journaling and scrapbooking. Most importantly, girls will continue to build self esteem, self acceptance and a toolbox to manage challenges. For more info please see website So Glad 2 Be Me!

Ongoing: Ladies Group Fitness in Arnprior - (All levels welcome) Fitness Centre (downstairs of the Quality Inn Hotel). Classes are offered Wednesday evenings 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. (Body Toning). Great Music – Vibrant Ladies – leave feeling strong and healthy! Saturday October 6th / Sunday October 7th / Monday October 8th Chairlift Rides at Calabogie Peaks from 11am-3pm. Ride  the chairlift to the top of Dickson Mountain for breathtaking views of  the Ottawa Valley. While you’re at the top of Dickson Mountain, explore  the Skywalk interpretive hiking loop. Saturday October 6th 8-11am – Fall Frenzy Children’s Clothing Sale Arnprior Early Years Center: Come and join us for our annual Fall clothing sale!! If you are looking to get rid of gently used children’s clothing or equipment or if you are interested in scooping up some of these fantastic deals, this is the sale for you!!  $15/person for table space to sell items and a $2 admission for those who are wanting to shop. The sale is held at Glad Tidings Church, 116 Baskin Drive. All proceeds will go directly back into programs at your Ontario Early Years/AFPRC.  www.arnweb.com/afprc

Thursday October 11th 9:30-11:00am – Kids in the Kitchen Arnprior Early Years Center: Come and join us for a morning of fun as we discover new tastes, textures and aromas in the kitchen, and create our own delicacies. Saturday October 13th 9am-1pm MOM TO MOM SALE! Almonte Civitan Hall, 500 Almonte Street. The Cooperative Nursery School of Almonte’s fall sale! Ample free parking.  With over 50 vendors this is a huge sale, with loads of baby and kids clothes, maternity clothing, costumes, toys, books, movies, strollers & baby equipment etc. Enjoy a BBQ lunch and our fabulous bake sale.  Adult admission is $2 and the first 200 shoppers will receive a valuable swag bag full of coupons, information, and special offers.  Proceeds support the Cooperative Nursery School of Almonte. Sunday October 21st 9am-4pm “So Glad to Be Me Workshop” with Jennifer Charbonneau in Calabogie ~ for girls between 8 and 12, a full day workshop of activities designed to build self esteem, unravel the daily “drama” and challenges and understand healthy body images etc.. The workshop would be held in Calabogie, woud cost approx. $55.00 per girl (which includes a take home package). (Mom’s & Dad’s – spend the day hiking to the Eagles Nest etc.. while your daughter enjoys this amazing workshop!) Please help spread the word if you know anyone with tween girls! Thursday October 25th 7-8:30pm Howlin Halloween Party at the Pakenham Library. Wear your Halloween costume to this evening of ghoulish games and monstrous mask-making!  Be prepared to get messy as we make edible mud pies – eat them if you dare!  Registration required, $2 per child.  All ages welcome. Saturday October 27th – The Unity Run The Unity Run is an annual walk/run that raises awareness and money for Community Living Renfrew County South. It begins at 8:30am at the Nick Smith Center. For more information please see  to register see Events Online Registration Page.

Saturday October 27th – Family Halloween Party Arnprior Early Years Center: Calling all witches, goblins and ghosts!! We will be hosting our third annual family Halloween Party. Come in your costumes and be ready to play some fun eerie games and go trick or treating. This party is best suited for children ages 0-10 years. There is a $5 per family admission fee. Tickets will be required to participate in the activities, each ticket will be .50 cents and each activity will require 1 ticket. There will be games, a craft station, cookie decorating, pumpkin carving and much more.  www.arnweb.com/afprc
