OVM’s Review on Breaking Dawn Part 2 Screening!!

Ottawa Valley Moms were very fortunate to be able to invite our followers to join us at the Arnprior O’Brien Theatres yesterday (Sunday November 18th) for a screening of the newly released block buster Breaking Dawn Part 2!! Being a huge fan of the books and the other 4 movies, I was SUPER excited to see this installment, the final one in the Twilight Saga! We were excited to see how many of YOU were also eager to see the movie, and we managed to fill 112 seats of the theatre with friends and followers of OVM!

From the very beginning of the movie, you could tell the visuals and the CGI work had vastly improved from the other movies in the series! Not to mention the hair and contacts of the vampires! Am I right!? Cause New Moon and Eclipse had some pretty bad hair lol! But I digress! I had heard people saying that they thought Baby Renesmee was pretty ‘cheesy’, but over all I don’t think it was horrible, and that all the characters in general were more believable (if you believed in vampires of course! ).

The Breaking Dawn novel was HUGE! (not to mention MY fave of the 4 books!) and it had a lot going on in it! I found that both the first installment and this one, Breaking Dawn Part 2, stuck very true to the book. I think they did a good job in putting all the important parts of the book into the movie including introducing all the new visiting vampires and moving the story along quite quickly. As always, Bella’s Dad Charlie was good for his one liner jokes, and the new vampire Garrett I quite liked, and found brought humour to the serious tone of the Volturi’s arrival.

*SPOILER ALERT* Without giving too much away for those of you who haven’t seen it yet (and what ARE you waiting for really!?), the ending was JAW DROPPING!! Seriously, I had heard there was a twist to the ending, but this was great! I have to say, that I was actually kind of excited that they had changed it up so drastically, I was really believing that it was actually going to end that way! Normally I am not a huge fan of when the ending of the movie isn’t the same as the book, but I think in this case it added the climactic point that the book lacks in my opinion, and really makes you think WTH is going on!! But of course, all ends well for the Cullen brood, and we are left happy for Edward, Bella, Jacob & Renesmee, and if you are like me, with teary eyes as the credits roll! (What!? Don’t judge! lol) I liked the tie in of the previous 4 Twilight movies, as Bella ‘shows’ Edward how much she has always loved him. Also found it nice, that in the credits they showed and named all the main characters from not only this installment, but the previous 4 movies as well. Only downfall for me is still Kristen Stewarts ability to act, or lack there of – although it IS getting better since Twilight! Also I had a hard time believing her to be a Mom, but Edward, I found more of a natural Dad. So overall, Breaking Dawn Part 2 gets 2 thumbs up from me!

So you have heard from me, here is what Nina thought of Breaking Dawn Part 2! “Just got back from watching Part 2 of Breaking Dawn and thought it was fantastic! It fit to the book pretty well, with a strong emphasis on Bella and Edwards romance (a little much at times!) Since I had read the series, I knew what would happen, but I really enjoyed how they turned it into a movie. The characters were fantastic as always and have progressed and improved so much since the first movie, that I really got into this movie. There were a few funny comments that lightened it up a lot and I enjoyed the new vampire characters, I think they did a great job. I wasn’t sure how I would react as I had heard there was a twist at the end that wasn’t true to the book, but I think it was necessary for this movie and added an element of excitement, anticipation and surprise! “

Tricia gives her review too!! “Breaking Dawn Part 2 did not disappoint.  The Twilight franchise has improved so much since the first Twilight film, offering great acting and realistic special effects.  I felt like I was able to connect with Bella, with not only her love for Edward, but now as a mother.  It offered a different kind of emotion the other films lacked.  There was even a great twist at the end that left me scratching my head wondering if I forgot parts of the book.  Definitely a must see.  A special thanks to Kevin at the Arnprior Theater for the warm welcome.  The Arnprior Theater has recently gone digital and the new and improved technology did not disappoint.  For almost half the price then competitor theater you get the same great experience, with a small town feel.”

The Ottawa Valley Moms want to say a HUGE thanks to Kevin at the Arnprior O’Brien Theatre for being so welcoming and having us at his theatre! We ALL had a great time, and we hope anyone who joined us there did as well! :)

So, if you have seen Breaking Dawn Part 2, what are your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree with our reviews!? What did YOU think of the ending!?

I totally agree with the reviews and also want to give a big shout out to Kevin and the staff at the O'Brien for giving OVM the opportunity to hold this event! When the "twist" started my friends and I all looked at each other with a WTH?!? look and then once it was revealed we were really happy with it! Can't wait for the next movie event, this one was great!
