The kids are back to school, families are getting back into routine and the cool evenings have blown in. Fall is officially in the air. With the crisp weather comes some feminine, easy to wear trends for the season. The season is all about pushing your fashion limits and stepping outside your comfort zone a little. Try these trends on for size:
Blue and black. Although it used to be taboo to wear blue and black together, this is the new, hot color combination. Stick with royal blue tones, navy will get lost against the black. This top from Jacob is a perfect example of the trend. It even incorporates the next trend into the look.
Lace is a super feminine element that is popping up on pieces everywhere. No longer is lace reminiscent of a doily; it now adds a sexy element to simple pieces. Take for example, this top from Jacob. The lace adds feminine flair to what would normally be a basic black t-shirt.
Tweed and hounds tooth but a far cry from your Grandmother’s version. Think classic Coco Chanel with pizzazz. Sequins, rhinestones and bold colors make old lady tweed, young. Zara does it right by adding fringe and chain detailing on the pockets.
Rich colors such as burgundy, and merlot are the “it” colors for Fall; along with mustard, royal blue and deep green. Banana Republic’s skinny cords come in a plethora of hot Fall colors, like Burgundy, shown here.
Smoking Slipper, similar to what your grandfather likely wears. Only made from luxe materials, or with fun embellishments like animal print or studs. Aldo carries this style of loafer in anything from a classic black, an animal printed or a fully sequined version.
