I had spent many nights looking for an attractive way to keep my kids stuffed animals off the floor. There were many options of those corner nets, but it just wasn’t going to cut it! Finally I found one made of fabric and thought this would be super simple to make. I am not a sewer, but my mom is! I recruit her for all my great ideas! She whipped two of these up from fabric she had in the basement, in about 15 minutes!! It can be hung from the wall or in the corner like ours.
It was such an easy solution and looks adorable in our play room!
Step one- pick a fabric of your choice. Something pliable as opposed to a jean or corduroy might be best. Choose your size, mine is around 4 feet long and 3 feet wide.
Step two- Hem the top and the bottom. Fold the edge over twice and sew it down to make a quick finished edge
Step three- on each end sew a big loop. Fold edge about a quarter inch, then another fold of about 2 inches and pin it down before sewing it. Make sure you sew where the edge was first folded down to make the finished edge and a big loop. Repeat on other end.
Step four- Choose a thick ribbon or extra fabric to feed through the big loops you just made. mine are unfinished pieces of extra fabric. Repeat on the other side and tie a tight knot. Now to finish up make a double knot about 1.5-2ins down to make a loop for hanging, or use wooden hoops like mine to add a little extra!
Step five- Find an appropriate hanging spot and mark two spots using a pencil and a level. Next drill into wall (into a stud if possible) using anchors as well.
Now stuff with Stuffies!! If you do not sew, but would like one, my mom will be selling them. Leave me a comment below to buy a Hammock!
