Planning for my big milestone 30th birthday was exciting and hard to decide what to do. I knew I wanted to get away for a day or two since I was 40 weeks pregnant last year for my birthday, and the year before Owen wasn’t even 6 months old yet. So me and Dave looked into different areas like Vegas, Niagara, and Lake Placid, but finally decided the 2.5 hour drive to Tremblant would be far enough, plus we had only been there in the winter before. We searched for weeks for the perfect place and after many emails to various places, we eventually found Chalet Tranquille, nestled in a quiet and beautiful area about 25 minutes from Tremblant Village.
There was a beautiful community of log cabins right off a golf course, a private hot tub, and a pool table in the basement- I was sold! We went up to the chalet the weekend before my actual birthday with 8 of our good friends, including my brother and sister in law. Despite the slightly confusing directions near the end, we all made it safe and sound friday evening. We spent the night exploring the chalet, hot tubbing and playing games!
On Saturday although I tried to sleep in since my Mom had our kids, I was still up at 7am!! After an enormous buffet breakfast, the girls drove into St Jovite to shop and the guys stayed behind playing Ladder ball, also known as hill billy golf!!
We all came together to make an amazing bbq chicken and steak dinner with quinoa and spinach salads and a side of roasted potatoes. With our bellies content, the girls settled into a game of monopoly cards while my hubby surprised me with some super yummy fudge brownie birthday cake! We relaxed for the rest of the evening playing more games like Pictionary and Celebrity! We had such a great weekend with amazing people and the log cabin was worth the price. Very Tranquille and relaxing and I would definitely go back there maybe during ski season next time to enjoy some hot chocolate in the hot tub after a day of skiing both with or without the kids.
