ON-GOING EVENTS

SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2012 – ONTARIO EARLY YEARS CENTRE WEST
The Ontario Early Years Centre has lots of weekly drop-ins for parents and their children all over Kanata. Check out the official drop-in schedule and head out to meet other new parents in your community. See the schedule here.

ON-GOING: PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS AT BEAVERBROOK LIBRARY
Children’s preschool programs are on at the Beaverbrook Library. All programs are drop-in. Check the website for more information: www.biblioottawalibrary.ca. Storytime is every Tuesday at 10:15AM; Toddlertime is each Wednesday at 10:15AM and Babytime is each Thursday at 10:15AM. The Beaverbrook Library is at 2500 Campeau Drive.

ON-GOING: EVENTS AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Ottawa Public Library features many great events in our local community for adults and children. You can check out each of their schedules on the following links: Hazeldean Branch, Beaverbrook Branch, Carp Branch and the Constance Bay Branch.

ON-GOING: THURSDAYS, KANATA MIXED BOWLING LEAGUE

ON-GOING: BINGO AT THE KANATA LEGION

NOVEMBER 3, 2012 – KANATA FOOD CUPBOARD FOOD DRIVE

UNTIL NOVEMBER 3, 2012 – KANATA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Halloween may be over after Oct. 31, but you can stay in the spirit until Saturday, Nov. 3, with a concert of spooky favourites presented by the Kanata Symphony Orchestra. Sure to appeal to the whole family, the fun begins at 7 p.m. at Glen Cairn United Church, located at 140 Abbeyhill Rd. Click here for more details.

Saturday November 10 is Neighbourhood Toy Store Day across Canada! More than 50 independent specialty toy stores belonging to Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) will feature an astonishing variety of activities including Speed Stacker demos, visits from Princesses, Orb Factory Sparkle Up ‘make & take’ tiaras and crowns, scavenger hunts, colouring with Calico Critters and Thomas the Train templates, building with Straws and Connectors, draws and raffle prizes, game tables, science tables, face painting, discounts, giveaways and much more on Saturday, November 10, allowing children and parents alike to experience the ‘wow’ factor of shopping at their local ‘neighbourhood’ toy store. Saturday November 17, 2012 at 10 a,m. Parade starts at Terry Fox and Castlefrank along Castlefrank to Abbeyhill to the Hazeldean Mall. The Kanata Food Cupboard is also accepting donations during the parade, click here for more info!

NOVEMBER 19, 2012 – FOOD SECURITY WEEK, KANATA FOOD CUPBOARD
November 19th is Food Security week and the Kanata Food Cupboard is kicking off the launch of their new grocery store concept. NOVEMBER 23, 2012 – JUSTIN BIEBER AT SCOTIABANK PLACE
Bieber Fever is taking the world by storm yet again. As millions of fans count down the days until the June 19 release of his fourth studio album, BELIEVE, platinum-selling pop singing sensation Justin Bieber announces a headlining tour of North America. The Believe Tour, presented by AEG Live and featuring Carly Rae Jepsen as a special guest through January, will begin Sept. 29 in Glendale, Arizona, at the Jobing.com Arena and blaze a trail through more than 45 cities – including Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place on Friday, Nov. 23 – before wrapping up in Miami, Florida, on Jan. 26, 2013, at the American Airlines Arena.
