Fun! Winter can be a blast if you want it to be! The best thing we have done this winter is join a Nordic ski club and the family is taking lessons. We are so happy!

Canadian winters......we are a hardy breed. My fondest memories of winter is taking my children up to my parents who live in the Ottawa Valley, where my dad would clean and get a portion of the lake ready for our "huge" family where the guys and kids would skate and play lake hockey. Then for those who didn't want to do that, he would make monguls around their property for the kids to slide (most of the times in garbage bags) or try their luck on sleds. My dad would take out his snowmobile and drive the kids around the property. Winter is cold and sometimes driving is aweful, but these kinds of memories warm you up and I know my kids and my family will always cherish them. As we get older the weather gets harder for those who can't always get around easy. I love taking a winter vacation to get away for a break - but I still love taking a walk on those winter days, when the air is crisp but not too cold, it has just snowed a little and the world seems to slow down just a little.
