Doing Up OVM’s Launch Party in Style!!

Sensational jazz music, low lighting, constant murmur of people mingling, laughter rising above the crowd and smiles all around….THIS was the scene on the evening of Friday September 14th at Options Jazz Lounge at the Brookstreet Hotel for the Ottawa Valley Moms Launch Party!!!

When we launched Ottawa Valley Moms back on July 30th, we had NO IDEA the amount of support we would receive!! Everywhere we go and everyone we talk to, we hear nothing but positive feedback about Ottawa Valley Moms! We are so utterly humbled by it all! And what do the humble people always do to show their appreciation!? Well, we throw big parties to thank everyone!!!

When we first went to see the Options Jazz Lounge at the Brookstreet hotel, we knew it was THE place that we wanted to hold our Official Launch Party! The setting and atmosphere were perfect! We are so thankful to Rowland Gordon, for all his help in arranging for all the details! The one detail we couldn’t help however, was all the rain that evening! We had so hoped to be able to use the amazing outdoor patio space, but alas, Mother Nature had other plans!  Rain aside, nothing could dampen out spirits and excitement about the evenings event!

Just before 7pm, our guests began to arrive, all looking fashionably fabulous we may add! It was so great to be able to meet everyone! Many of you, we have spoken to via twitter or facebook or by comments on our blogs! So it was great to finally put a face to the name and get to know everyone a little better!

As our guests arrived we greeted them and loaded them down with our amazing (and highly in demand!) swag bags! (More to come of those, from Erin!!) Fortunately and unfortunately, we only made up 50 of the bags originally, anticipating that we would be lucky to have 50 guests come! Boy were we off!! Staggeringly, we had upwards of 90 people flow through the party throughout the evening! So although only the first 50 lucky guest received swag bags, we still had a little sponsored treat for all our guests, amazing door prizes, a welcome punch and enough appetizers to go around! So I hope that all our guests left happy!!

The evening was enjoyed with a mix of mingling, meeting new people and reacquainting with those we’ve met before! Tweeting and sharing on social media were out there in the forefront as well! Whether it was discussing work, family, or fun over drinks, or simply sitting back and taking in some of the amazing jazz songs by Shirley, everyone seemed at ease and to be enjoying themselves.

I know all 5 of us had an AMAZING evening meeting all of you! The Launch Party was way more than we could have ever expected!! THANKS to EVERYONE who came out to help us celebrate, and to all who helped in any way to make this possible for us!!! We hoped you thoroughly enjoyed yourself as much as we did, for if it weren’t for YOU, we wouldn’t have had anything to celebrate to begin with! So THANK YOU for coming out and spending the evening with us! Here is to many more parties in the years to come!! Cheers!
