SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2012 – ONTARIO EARLY YEARS CENTRE WEST
The Ontario Early Years Centre has lots of weekly drop-ins for parents and their children all over Kanata. Check out the official drop-in schedule and head out to meet other new parents in your community. See the schedule here.

ON-GOING: PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS AT BEAVERBROOK LIBRARY
Children’s preschool programs are on at the Beaverbrook Library. All programs are drop-in. Check the website for more information: www.biblioottawalibrary.ca. Storytime is every Tuesday at 10:15AM; Toddlertime is each Wednesday at 10:15AM and Babytime is each Thursday at 10:15AM. The Beaverbrook Library is at 2500 Campeau Drive.

KANATA-MARCH HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY WELCOMES DONNA WARWICK – OCTOBER 2, 2012
Donna Warwick of Avant Gardeners will discuss “Common Landscaping Mistakes Homeowners Make” on October 2, 2012 from 7:30-9PM at the Old Town Hall, 821 March Road. A $5 fee is charged for non-members, which can be applied to an annual KMHS membership of $15.

HEURE DU CONTE / FRENCH STORYTIME – OCTOBER 3, 2012
Histoires, rimes et chansons pour tout‐petits et leurs parents ou responsables de garde. L’activité sera suivie par un petit bricolage. Pour les enfants de 0 à 6ans. Families who are not fluent in the French language can attend this activity; however the activity will be delivered entirely in French. FRIENDS OF THE OTTAWA PUBLIC LIBRARY HOLDING A BOOK ENDS SALE – OCTOBER 6, 2012
The Friends of the Ottawa Public Library (FOPLA) will be holding Book Ends, a book sale of gently used books at the Beaverbrook Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive from 11-3PM on October 6. Come and browse their selection of books, CDs, DVDs, etc.

FREE TOM COCHRANE CONCERT AT SCOTIABANK PLACE – OCTOBER 6, 2012
CUPE Local 503 and CUPE Ontario presents Rock for Public Services with Tom Cochrane & Red Rider on October 6, 2012. Canadian rock legends Tom Cochrane & Red Rider will headline this year’s spectacular edition of Rock for Public Services at Scotiabank Place. This live event, which will offer free admission to all fans, is set for Saturday, Oct. 6. The concert will be presented by CUPE Local 503 and CUPE Ontario to celebrate the efforts of municipal and health care workers in the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Learn more here.

KANATA ART CLUB HOSTS GUEST SPEAKER BRENDA BEATTIE – OCTOBER 10, 2012
Club members will be treated to an exciting demonstration of the finer points of water color painting by its specially invited guest, Brenda Beattie of Constance Bay. YOU, ME AND YOGA – STARTS OCTOBER 15, 2012
Give your child the gift of good health with parent and child yoga. Learn some basic yoga poses, breathing and meditation techniques with your child in a relaxed, fun 45‐ minute class. Start them now on a path to wellness…body and mind. The program is best suited to 3‐5 year olds.
