Ode To My Husband

Ode To My Husband

  • Delicious

A lot of our blog posts are about the ups and downs of life with children. They mean the world to us, consume our every move, and take over our every thought. But the truth is, we all have wonderful, supportive husbands, who are behind us and the decisions we are constantly making.

My husband, like many others, works long days. He has a job that requires a lot of him, so when he gets home he is often drained. He often comes home to a toddler running circles around me, and me begging for help. He is thrown in to a hectic home, after already having worked 12 hours that day.

There are certain days, I forget he has already worked a long day, and expect him to take over for me, because my day has been crazy. Its easy to think that I have had it harder then him, and in need of more down time then him. On those days, he greets me with a smile, takes over whatever I am doing without a complaint and gives me a break.

Some days, I feel like there is no harder job then being a stay at home mom. At times I complain that my day is repetitive and boring and that I wish I could be working outside the home. My husband reminds me why I choose this path in life. He reminds me why I am a great mother. He reminds me about how precious time is with our son at this age. He reminds me, that this too shall pass.

And on days when he is up before the sun comes up, and home long after our son is in bed, I am reminded how lucky I am to have had all that time with my son. Time my husband only dreams of. I am reminded how lucky I am to have a husband that has sacrificed so much so we can have a roof over our heads, and food on our table.

So the next time I feel like giving my husband a hard time because he missed dinner or a special event, I will remember that he would rather be spending time with his family, but thats not an option at this point in our lives. I will remember that its a sacrifice he is making to better our lives.

Thank you to all the husbands and wives out there that make these sacrifices.

Share your stories about that special someone in your life that makes these sacrifices.

I agree Tricia! I feel that my hubby is more than just the man I met and fell in love with, I don't know what I would do without him, and hope I don't have to find out!
