ANNUAL BIOLOGY BUTTERFLY SHOW – OTTAWA
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 29 – MONDAY OCTOBER 8, 2012
Don’t you love free activities for your family? The Ottawa Butterfly Show is an annual event that runs daily from Saturday, September 29, 2012, to Monday, October 8, 2012, in the greenhouses of Carleton University’s biology department. Opening hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Nesbitt Biology Building. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

CHILLS FOR CHEO – NEPEAN

Chills for CHEO provides Ottawa’s best haunted house experience while raising funds for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Formerly built and operated in residential areas, Chills for CHEO is back again this year in its permanent home at Funhaven, a new and exceptional Entertainment Centre brought to you by the creators of Chills for CHEO.

THIRD WORLD BAZAAR – MANOTICK
THANKSGIVING WEEKEND (OCT 5-8) & EVERY WEEKEND UNTIL NOVEMBER 18, 2012
The Third World Bazaar is a family business that purchases products from around the developing world and sells directly to consumers in the Ottawa area. The Bazaar operates over a six week period where products are sold in a large barn, with a festive atmosphere. They bring a wide range of exotic and interesting home décor, garden, musical instruments, art, furniture, and a wide range of other products to their customers.

LIGHT THE NIGHT WALK IN OTTAWA

Each year, in communities across Canada, teams or families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come together to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s (LLSC’s) Light The Night Walk events and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers. SEARS GREAT CANADIAN RUN – OTTAWA

The Sears Great Canadian Run links together major Canadian cities and resort destinations, providing solo runners and teams of up to 20 people with an exciting, challenging and beautiful experience. Funds raised will support The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and national initiatives across Canada which support the research and treatment of kids cancer. This year participants will run from Ottawa to Montebello, QC.

BABES 4 BREASTS IN CONCERT – OTTAWA
SATURDAY OCTOBER 20, 2012 
Babes4Breasts is a National Benefit Concert fundraising for a variety of Breast Cancer charities. Built from a desire to do good and unite women across the country, Founder Ana Miura enlisted the help of many talented, female musicians and have raised over $50,000 to date!

MOMSTOWN HALLOWEEN PARTY – BARRHAVEN
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 31, 2012
This Halloween party is open to all moms and kids and it’s Free! There will be lots of activities for the little ones including a Monster Mash dance party, a play area sponsored by Fisher Price (the toys will be raffled off at the end of the event) and the kids will get to decorate their pillow cases for trick or treating.
