October At Valleyview Animal Farm- Celebrate the harvest and pumpkins, and they are open Thanksgiving Monday! Click here to view their website!

 October At Saunders Farm- Enjoy daytime haunt/fall festival, fun for the whole family.  Their Activities  include Live shows, Jumping Pillows, Pedal Carts, hayrides, pumpkin picking, 10 mazes and dozens of amazing play structures. At night they turn up the scare factor into a full fledged Haunting experience with our Barn of Terror, Haunted Haunted  and other haunts and activities.

Halloween Near Kingston- If you are into getting the pants scared off you, you may want to venture a little further from Ottawa fortfright.com. Or  check out the magical phenomenon of a hand carved pumpkin exhibit at  pumpkinferno.com

Library Programs- Check out local libraries for on-going children and adult programs including Baby time with stories and songs, and tween girls book club!

Exercise in Richmond- Chanonhouse Bootcamp has a few spots left, new class starting October 11th. Check out the  for more details! Also the Legion in Richmond hosts exercise classes monday, wednesday and fridays. Their website lists all their activities at www.richmondlegion.ca

October 5th Bake Sale - Come to the LCBO in Carleton Place at 10 am for lots of yummy goodies and proceeds go to United Way.

October 6th Saunders Farm OVM Event- 1030am-130pm Come join us for fun and frights! Meet other moms and their families in the Ottawa and surrounding areas! By joining our group at this event, you’ll receive a $1.50 off the cost of your admission. You do need to register here to get the discount, as you’ll get a printable coupon upon registering.

October 6th Sports Fun Day- Held at the Stittsville Legion Hall at 1pm. Regeister for $10 to have fun with horseshoes, darts, pool, ring toss, and more! A lasagna lunch is included in your entrance fee.

October 12th Hoot Live Music Event at Duffy’s Tavern- Located a 6 Lennox St in Richmond. Come out for great live bands from 9pm-12am.

October 19, 20, 21st Used Book Sale- Organized by the Main st Community Services in Stittsville at the Lions Hall. Bake sale goodies and BBQ lunch will also be available throughout the day!

October 20th 9 Run Run- The city of Ottawa emergency services (police, paramedics and firefighters) host a running event which includes a half marathon, a 10K run and a 3K family fun run, at Sacred Heart High School in Stittsville. Registration closes Oct. 16th.

October 27th Karaoke in Richmond- Come sing your heart out at the Richmond Legion Hall on Ottawa street. Doors open at 8pm with a $5 cover charge

October 27th Maskeraid- The Carleton Place BIA is getting into the “SPIRIT” of Halloween with this year’s Maskeraid Parade. The only event of its kind in Lanark County the Annual Halloween Maskeraid Parade is Carleton Place’s most Spooktacular night of the year. This annual event sponsored by the Carleton Place BIA is in support of the Lanark County Food Bank. Beginning at 7 pm, the parade kicks offat Heritage Mall on Landsdowne Avenue, travels down Landsdowne and onto Bridge Street, and ends at Mill Street by the Town Hall.
