What’s the Big Deal About Saving for Education Now?
According to this education cost calculator, the cost of education is rising at a rate of approximately 3% per year. You can choose the year your child will start post-secondary education to see just how much you can expect to pay for their education at home and abroad. OVM Erin did this for her daughter Willow and she can expect anywhere from $70,000-110,000 for Willow’s post-secondary education. Not a small chunk of change, that’s for sure.
Saving for education is important to do now so that you set yourself, and your child, up to succeed. By being able to send them to whichever school they choose, to study whichever program they want, the’ll be able to pursue a career without the worry of school costs looming overhead.
OVM Erin set up an RESP for her daughter Willow shortly after Willow was born and by saving just a small amount each month, the RESP portfolio already has thousands of dollars in it. It makes a huge difference to start early.
Get More Support as a Canadian Momma
While the contest is super awesome, there is also another Playtex tool that we wanted to share with you.
